At Translectric it is our goal to ship all
orders the same days as they are received.
While not always
possible, we work very hard to achieve this goal. The biggest challenge
in achieving this goal
is knowing what to stock. Many of our
thousands of products are
seasonal, and with so
many products it is near impossible to make sure that you have
just the right amount of
everything to satisfy our customers’ needs.
To aid in our purchasing process we use an
inventory planning software package created
by Valogix. This software
(know around here as “Valogix”) is an
amazing program. It
integrates with our
business software (SAP Business One), looks at inventory levels, sales
history, and many other
factors, and decides what needs to be ordered.
You are then
presented with a very
customizable interface from which you can review the recommendations
to be purchased. Once you’ve reviewed (and approved) the
proposed orders, Valogix even
creates the purchase
orders for You!
Many times when placing an order you don’t
quite meet the free freight requirements of
the vendor. Valogix can even
help with this. It knows each vendor’s
requirements, and
makes suggestions about
other items that will need to be ordered soon.
These items can
then be added to the
order to meet free freight.
While the software is a great tool, it’s
the people who work at Valogix who make
it an
awesome tool! They are continuously working to make their
software better, and if you
need help with setup, or
if your requirements change, they are only a phone call away.
If all software
companies were like Valogix, the IT
world would be a much better place.
